Objectives

Our vision in Africa is to go the neglected people groups and reach them with the Gospel of Christ. A short-term missions teams work will involve the first contact with the villages, evangelism, building and maintaining of relationships after the event is over for a minimum of 2 years.

All teams arriving into Africa will first land at the great Victoria Falls in Zambia to spend the first two days of the mission at the Overland Missions operational base to do training and orientation for the mission. From this base teams board our Overland trucks that and will travel to the locations that the specific trip is working in. These locations include the countries of Zambia, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Angola, Namibia, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zanzibar, Congo and South Africa.

Teams will fly into exotic Victoria Falls, Zambia. Traditionally known as â€œThe Smoke that Thundersâ€ because of the mist that rises as the water falls into the rocky caldrons of the Batoka Gorge hundreds of feet below. The Tonga tribe in the area are ruled by urban legend and mysteries told by their ancestors about giant snakes and dominions in the skies. Overland Missions teams bring light and truth to the villages and beautiful Tonga people. The team will remain camped at the falls every night while during the day teams disperse into the bush on expedition trucks displaying the love of Christ to these people. Victoria Falls is ranked as one of the best places in the world for adventure sports like white water rafting, elephant riding, jet boating and such activities. Time will be made for thrilling adventure sports, so that you can find out how adventurous you really are.
