Open Doors

What a year this has been!  God has brought mea long way.  I use to ask God to show me a miracle and then I would believe in Him. I have found it doesn’t work like that but quiet the opposite.  I finally started believing in God and desiring Him and as I did this He showed me miracle after miracle and it seems He now has me on the fast track.  I went on my first mission trip with Overland Missions believing God’s calling on my life.  He brought me from just going on a 6 week expedition to staying in Africa an extra 3 months for AMT and being trained as part of the new well drilling team.  All this because I BELIEVED and OBEYED the voice of God.

Overland didn’t find me to work for them, instead I found them through the voice of God.   They are a true blessing to me and their vision impacts many people around the world.  Since I have been apart of Overland Missions God has really changed my heart and worldview.  He has also blessed me and allowed me to be a part of many healings, testimonies, and salvations.  There are many miracles that have taken place in my personal life, I now understand the call on my life, to PREACH the WORD of God and to be the salt and light of the world.  Yet another miracle was being signed on as staff and a position in the Well Drilling Department. The biggest miracle of all is when I left the states I told God “all I want is to serve You and do Your will and I don’t want any distractions… like girls.” Well He had one in mind for me and her name is Cristy Clarke. She is a wonderful helpmate and her vision lines up with mine. We both are in love with the Lord, Missions, and each other. We are getting married on February 12, 2012 and she is the opposite of a distraction. She pushes me closer to the Lord and encourages me daily as I do with her. She is everything I’ve ever wanted or needed and together we make a great team because we put Christ before one another and we love each other through His eyes.

Lastly through Overland Missions I have gained a confidence to speak of the Lord’s greatness and love. I am forever grateful to the staff who have encouraged me along the way. The friends I have today through the people who either volunteer, work fulltime or translate for Overland are amazing. They are true friends with big callings on their lives to change the world around them. I work with people that are very dear to me and are Spirit filled examples of Christ. If you are looking for a true team/family that are impacting the world Overland Missions is the place to be. Sign up for an expedition it will change your life and the lives around you.

Trey, I love the blog. You have done a fantastic job putting this together. Two issues, 1. you have about 6 miss spelled words, they need correcting. 2. your conflicting time line of 3 months and then 5 months staying in Africa after the first 6 weeks should be corrected to avoid misinterpretation. Great pictures, great job!!!!!
