It was early in the morning and the river was as still as glass as Pastor Edivaldo, Jessica and I walked up the mud stairs into Valle do Kenia, the village we'd be ministering in. Valle do Kenia is the village where one of our pastors was born. His name is Pastor Leo. He grew up in Valle do Kenia, and his mother still lives there. Pastor Edivaldo had been ministering there for 14 years, and remembers when Pastor Leo gave his life to Christ at the age of 10. His mother though, hardened her heart and would not believe. This year however, when our team was sharing, Pastor Leo's mother came up to the front of the church, lifted her hands to the sky, and said "Here I am Lord." After 14 years of hearing the Word from Pastor Edivaldo, her son Leo, and now our team, she finally surrendered her life to Christ. It was an emotional moment has I beheld the greatest miracle of all which Ezekiel spoke of in Eze. 36:26 " I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; and I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh." Leo prayed with his mother as she received Christ as her Lord and Savior and embraced a new life and a new identity. It was a good reminder me that healings, signs and wonders, though great, pale in comparison to a person finding new life in Christ.
