We are saddened to announce that we have 'lost', for a short season, one of our own. Joy Bausum went to be with the Lord this Monday while serving in Malaysia under International Pentecostal Holiness Church. Joy graduated from Overland Mission's first AMT (Advanced Missions Training) class in 2007 and went on to serve with us for till January of 2009. She continued her missionary travels all over the continent of Asia first with friends before joining IPHC. All in pursuit of her passion for making Christ's name known in Asia. Joy's love for the Lord kept her moving from country to country, sharing the love of Christ in every way possible. At the young age of 26, after a short and surprising illness, Joy went home to live with Him who lived fully for us. We will deeply miss Joy's kindness and loving communication. She had an amazing ability to keep in touch with her handmade birthday cards (always on time!), notes, phone calls and Facebook chats. She truly personified her namesake by constantly bring JOY into the lives of those around her. Joy ran the race well and is now enjoying His glorious presence. Here at Overland, we are sure that even as we shed tears for her, she is cheering us on from heaven: "Tell the whole world about HIM!" Joy - We will miss you for a time, but will continue making His name known throughout the world JOYfully. Till we meet again...
