Vitamin Distribution in Machinga

Our truck rattled down the dirt road toward Machinga - a village in the Mukuni Sector. After about 45 minutes we came to a halt under the welcoming shade of a huge mango tree. Within minutes a crowd gathered. They had heard the news: today we would be giving away vitamins! About a year ago, Overland Missions acquired 100 tons of the highest quality organic vitamins, to be distributed free of charge to the rural people of Zambia. After months of paperwork, meetings with officials, phone calls and trips to Lusaka, the vitamins finally arrived in four huge containers in July. It was the end of the road in many ways, but in other ways, this was just the beginning... Today, in Machinga, we had a captive audience! The DAF truck was late. We had about an hour on our hands. We were not going to let this time go to waste! Arthur got up and preached about the Living God, the Creator of everything and how He desired to have a personal relationship with us, because of His great love. 58 people responded to the call for salvation! We continued to distribute about a ton of vitamins to about 200 people. It was glorious to see our team work together so efficiently, to see the love they share so freely with the people of Zambia. Every day I am grateful to serve an indescribable God together with an incredible team. This is what it's all about!
