Finishing Strong

Posted by: Martin Lopez on January 28, 2012 |

Amt graduation july 2011It was a great year for Overland Missions in terms of team growth and infrastructure. One of the major highlights in 2011 was the creation of our Water Drilling Division in Zambia. With the strategic alliance of several partners and outside ministries we secured a PRD 600 drilling rig. We added an Ingersoll compressor, support vehicles and assembled a great drilling crew.

In spite of temperatures reaching 125 degrees, through numerous government delays and equipment challenges the drilling crew performed exceptionally. We drilled five holes throughout the chiefdoms around Rapid 14 Base and are poised to drill another 7-10 holes in 2012.

The staff team continues to grow globally and in a balanced way. Our strategy of “birthing” the team through our Advanced Mission Training (AMT) is a success when coupled with our Ministry of Partnership Development (MPD) component.

These are just a couple of examples of what God did throughout the nations. We look forward to 2012 and thank you again for your prayers and support.

That’s the beauty of beginning in an area with the gospel, developing a strong local church and THEN bringing wells. This way, the community cares for the wells and protect them in a sustainable way. If you are looking for opportunities to get involved, go to the “Get Involved” area of this website, apply for an ongoing trip and take one step at a time ;)
