Description

In the Andes Mountains of Argentina, picture living in an indigenous community where it seems that time has stood still. Because of your indigenous culture, tourists come to take photos, yet you remain overlooked by most of society. Your people are under constant risk of losing their ancestral lands while they work the mountainsides they were raised on. This is just a glimpse of the cultural dynamic you’ll encounter while on your backpacking expedition in Salta, Argentina. The Message you bring as an ambassador of Christ is the only hope for freedom in a culture that suffers much oppression*.

Objectives

Your backpacking expedition will focus on evangelism and discipleship as you preach the Gospel and strengthen the local church. Your team will be a part of Overland Missions’ vision of sector management, pioneering into new regions, and building lasting relationships and empowering the indigenous church to reach their own people.

This expedition will challenge you mentally, physically and spiritually. The terrain and logistics are some of the toughest in the world. Appropriate physical training and preparation is required and is outlined in the expedition orientation.
