Searching for the Bridge

Overland Missions Story Blog Image  God broke down walls and strongholds in the villages we ministered in this month. We worked in the Mukuni Kingdom, which is in southern Zambia, and were able to minister in two villages that had hardly any knowledge of Jesus. In Chumbumutwe Village, we camped just down the path from the witch doctor and every night went to sleep hearing his chanting.

We were able to minister to him and his family and his wife and sister-in-law gave their lives to Christ. We met many people who only knew the name of Jesus but nothing beyond that. God did amazing work and opened many doors for us to share with the entire village about the love of God and who Christ truly is.

My favorite testimony from the expedition comes from Chunga Village, the second area we went to. It took us 4 hours to travel 13 miles to reach this village, crossing rivers and driving up and down rocky hills. It was hard and long trek where it was actually quicker to walk at times then to ride in the truck! While doing door to door ministry in the village, my group walked to the top of a hill where we found two women waiting for us at their homes. They said that they had heard we were coming and had been waiting for us all day.

A member of the team, Wanda, began sharing with them after we found out that they had no knowledge of Christ. She shared that Jesus is the bridge that unites us with God, drawing the illustration in the dirt. When we asked the women if they understood what we were saying, they replied, “We need this bridge. Where can we find it?” They were so eager to be reunited with God and accepted Christ wholeheartedly. Praise God for the simplicity of His word and for giving us Jesus as the bridge to reunite us with Him!

This post is very exciting.  I just recently started praying for you, specifically that the Lord would grant you favor with the people in the new sectors you are reaching.  I have no doubt that these people receiving Christ are answered prayer.
