More About Machenge Village
Ngandu village is one of the “oldest” villages in our program. We have been working with them since the beginning of the LIFE Project several years ago. Because of this, we have several children who have already progressed to grades one and two.
An Overland Missions team was evangelizing in the village of Sichilobe at the beginning of 2008. This village is in an isolated part of the Mukuni Chiefdom. Here the people walk 2 km one way to a river to get their water supply; this shows the life skill of endurance and perseverance.
Jafuta’s headman regularly expresses his appreciation for the school and oversees the children’s education as if they were his own.
The Mandandi Preschool has conquered many hurdles when it comes to the establishment of preschool education in their village. Most of their resiliency has been built thanks to the faithful teacher they have in Mischek Mubita.
Chunga is approximately 40 km from the Rapid 14 base. On my first visit to the LIFE Pre-school I discovered that the dirt road was only 20 km and the rest was a bicycle path needed to be carefully navigated so as not to puncture a tire or get a tree branch in the face.
Chibalani village is special because it represents the most central area of all of the preschools in the Mukuni Chiefdom.
