Sector manager is a term we use for a modern-day missionary in charge of preaching the Gospel and fulfilling the Kingdom’s mandate in a specific geographic region called a sector.
While we understand the responsibility of modern-day missions is primarily upon the indigenous church, sector managers are necessary to facilitate and help steward and forward the movement of the Gospel. Each sector is approximately 100 km x 100 km in size within a particular country, and a very intentional strategy is put in place to reach every person within the area.
The minimum required commitment for a sector manager is five years. Overland Missions has a vision to deploy sector managers into 200 sectors over the face of the earth by 2020. WE NEED MISSIONARIES! To become part of our missionary team, you will need to first complete two training programs (exceptions will be made for missionaries with a minimum of 10 years field experience).
Recommended First Step: Participate in one of our short-term expeditions
Required Programs:
1) Advanced Mission Training (AMT): A rigorous 12-week field training program. This takes place at our logistical base in Zambia, Africa.
2) Ministry of Partnership Development (MPD): A vital part of your ministry in which you raise up a team of people who will “partner” with you to accomplish the vision God has called you to. This includes a two-day course which teaches you everything you need to know in order to become fully funded in your career as a world missionary.
Once you have completed these programs, you will serve for a necessary season under an active sector manager in order to be further equipped before taking on your assignment.
